The tool's function is to assists the technician during the assembly of the lever and its related components (washer, nyloc nut) onto the poppet.

The tool is used by screwing the tool into the threaded housing. Doing so compresses the spring and exposes an adequate length of threaded poppet shaft onto which the lever assembly can be installed. Care has to be taken to respect the proper orientation and sequence of the parts to be installed.

We find that this tool and its use is much more user friendly than the recommended procedure.
